At the latest TRESA meeting on Wednesday 17th May, we were pleased to have John Payne from Bristol Civic Society as our guest speaker.
John told us about the Civic Society, what it is and how it operates. We then looked at various examples of good design and some of the larger projects occurring around Bristol.
We also spent some time looking at the Development Planning policies of the national and local government so that people could understand some of the decisions that are taken, and also how to work within these systems and comment effectively. As an organisation concerned about Totterdown, we sometimes need to comment of inappropriate developments and want to ensure we do this effectively.
