Development of Redcliffe Wharf approved

Totterdown residents who head into town past Redcliffe Wharf will notice considerable change over the next few years as a new development containing flats, restaurants, shops and offices is constructed. Historic boat building premises will be demolished but two other buildings on the site will be refurbished. There will also be new boat moorings, and a pedestrian and cycle link to the Quaker Garden opposite St Mary Redcliffe church (see pictures below). Concerns were raised about the lack of affordable housing in the scheme but developers CDP said that three affordable homes was the maximum amount they could include in order to make the development profitable.
