TRESA Public meeting, 7.30pm 18th March 2018, Totterdown Canteen

1 – Opening

a. Apologies

b. Previous minutes
Previous minutes approved.

 

2. Directors reports (3 mins each)

a. Treasurer (inc Breakdown Table)
Treasurer was not present at the start of the meeting to give an update.  However no issues are known and current bank balance is strong.

b. Company secretary
Company secretary was not present at the start of the meeting to give an update.  No items outstanding and all company activities are on track.

c. Membership secretary
97 paid up members. Membership system working well. .

d. Web Editor
Site all running well – Over the past 30 days the site has had 382 users

e.Talk of Totterdown / eToT
On track for next edition.

 

3. Projects

a. Totterdown Sprouting
Gardening club doing well.

A work party is planned for the Community Orchard to celebrate Earth Day on Sunday 22nd April.  There will be a focus on reducing plastics.

b. Angers Rd/ Stanley Hill
Same as last month.  LW is chasing the council to respond, and let us know who the new officer on this case is after James Dowling moved on, it is slow and frustrating but will keep on it.

c. Zone A
Trees – still seeking suitable contractor/fabricator for the installation.  Ian (One of the guest speakers from ABC) may be able to assist.

TACA are having a meeting with Burgess Salmon to discuss ownership.

d. Zone N
Work is ongoing to list out required improvements so that this can be “priced up” by BCC.  We may then need to look at getting additional funding if we want to achieve all developments.

e. Multicultural Totterdown
SA sent round forms re poss submissions. All directors to follow up – no deadline.

 

4. Guest Speaker – Action for Balanced Communities

Four speakers were present from ABC who gave an interesting talk about the issues of student accommodation within their communities, and how this could affect Totterdown when the new university campus is developed.

There are very real impacts from large numbers of students

ABC are pushing BCC to develop a planning guidance document about HMO.  TRESA agreed to push for this as well.

This section skipped due to time constraints.

 

6. AOB

a. Great Get Together
This will be held on Sunday 24th June at Zone A with a road closure of Firfield Street.
CJ and BM are arranging.
