The month-long Bristol Walk Fest , taking place from May 1 to 31, encourages people of all ages, interests and fitness levels to explore the city and its surrounds on foot See www.bristolwalkfest.com for details. Bristol Walk Fest is inviting organisations with ideas for walking events to get in touch by Monday 24 February if they want a listing in the timetable for the festival’s next edition.
There is no charge for adding a listing to the festival’s line-up and while the organisers are keen to make sure that most walks and walking sports are free to join, some organisers are allowed to sell tickets.
To find the events submissions form, visit https://www.bristolwalkfest.com/get-involved/submit-an-event/.
A hallmark of the festival – one of the biggest of its kind in the UK – is the variety of events it offers.
When the programme is complete, it will be shared via the Bristol Walk Fest website – www.bristolwalkfest.com – and via printed brochures, flyers and posters. News will also be available from the Bristol Walk Fest page on Facebook and via @briswalkfest20 on Twitter.
Bristol Walk Fest 2020 is being co-ordinated by Active Ageing Bristol in collaboration with The Anchor Society and St Monica Trust, working in partnership with Age UK Bristol. Principal funders are Active Ageing Bristol and Bristol City Council’s Access Fund.
The festival coincides with Living Streets’ National Walking Month – a nationwide initiative encouraging people to take more trips on foot.
