Summer is well and truly on its way! More people are getting out and about and there feels to be a greater optimism and friendliness in our streets.
Totterdown Square has been particularly busy over the past few weekends; it’s certainly becoming a better used area, as people chill out with a drink or food. The work that members of TRESA Gardening Club have done on the large beds has certainly paid off in encouraging folk to linger, and the table tennis is proving popular with all ages.
This month we celebrate the Totterdown Great Get Together (in memory of Jo Cox MP) up at Zone A. This will be a very chilled out family event, and an opportunity to meet friends, neighbours and enjoy what our community has to offer. Bring a picnic and something to sit on and join us from 2pm on Sunday 24 June. There will be stalls, entertainment and some wonderful tasty treats to buy from the fabulous Fanny Tingle’s Tantalising Flavours!
Summer also brings the annual TRESA Front Garden Awards – last year over 260 awards were given out. In an area of tightly knit streets with minimal outside space, it’s a real pleasure to see so many people take pride in their front gardens. Plant up your baskets, spruce up your shrubs and let’s make Totterdown a riot of colour!
