The new road layout at Temple Gate will be resurfaced over a three week period of night works starting Sunday, 28 July, marking a major milestone in work to transform this busy traffic intersection. Contractors will resurface roads and paint new lining on Bath Bridges, Temple Gate, Redcliffe Way, Temple Way, Victoria Street and the Friary.
The works will take place during a series of overnight closures in the area from 8pm to 6am. With the exception of Sunday 28 July, all works will be undertaken Monday-Friday.
This is a complex programme over a large area which will require a number of different phases of closures and restrictions. While pedestrian routes will remain open throughout, there will be diversions marked on site for vehicles. We encourage those who plan to travel through the area to consider alternative routes and leave extra time for their journey. Bus routes will also be affected with the changes to services available on the First Bus website.
Businesses in the area will be open as usual and access to Temple Meads station will be maintained throughout but will include some lane restrictions when work is taking place at the bottom of Station Approach.
We are sorry for any inconvenience while these important works are undertaken and we continue to work closely with our contractors, partners and the local community to mitigate disruption where possible.
We will be posting daily updates on closures while the works are underway on our Twitter, please see @TempleQuarter.
