University plans for tower blocks at ‘arena island’

The University of Bristol’s proposals for arena island include a 25 storey tower block. The plans are now on display in the Engine Shed, next to Temple Meads railway station.

Seven buildings form the master plan for the new city centre campus and include: 8/9 storey building, 9 storey building, 10 storey building and 12 storey building (residential and academic).

The main tower blocks will be in the Arena Island North site, across Brock’s Bridge, and will be students’ residences. They include: 25-storey block, 18-storey building and 11-storey building, with commercial space on the ground floor.
