Update on Thunderbolt Steps closure

TRESA has received the following update on Thunderbolt Steps. We will continue to monitor this work and stress the importance of this right of way for Totterdown folk.

“I can confirm that, due to potential danger to the public from to a structurally unstable parapet wall adjacent to the footpath, the Council issued a temporary closure notice for the Thunderbolt Steps with effect from 23rd November.

The Council’s Bridges & Highway Structures has agreed a stabilisation solution with the developer and work is on-going to implement this.  It is likely that this work will continue for at least another few weeks, and the Thunderbolt Steps public right of way will therefore remain temporarily closed until the work is completed and it is safe to re-open the footpath.

I have asked our Bridges & Highway Structures team to keep me updated and would be happy to provide you with a further update as the remedial work progresses towards the re-opening of the footpath.

Kind regards
