TRESA is holding a”Tidy up Totterdown” event on Sunday 5th March, 11.00am-1.00pm in support of the Council’s Clean Up Bristol campaign. We hope you can join us.
We will focus on litter picking but will also include some sweeping, weeding and basic gardening at key sites around Totterdown (see below). We will meet at 11.00am on Zone A, Wells Road (the green space just up from Mama Bear’s nursery), and return to Zone A by 1.00pm with our bags of rubbish to be stacked on the hard standing ready for collection by Bristol Waste. The main areas we have identified are:
- heading down Wells Road to Three Lamps junction (litter picking as we go) and then coming up the other side to focus on the grass verge
- Zone N (in front of the gym/YMCA building) litter picking, and a chance to discuss proposals for improving this green space
- Totterdown Square (Oxford Street shopping area) sweeping and litter picking, where there will also be an opportunity to weed the raised flowerbeds
- Angers Road green space litter picking, and an opportunity to tidy up the informal planters and discuss plans to address rat running
- And, of course, anywhere else you would like to tidy up in Totterdown!
Litter pickers, gloves and bags will be provided, but you will need to bring your own brushes and/or gardening tools. We look forward to seeing you!
