Talk of Totterdown is the newsletter of the local community, carrying news of upcoming events, topics of local interest and ideas for improving our neighbourhood. It is issued four times a year, and paid for through membership subscriptions and advertising.
We would love to hear your news and views. Contact the Talk of Totterdown Editor by emailing talkoftotterdown@tresa.org.uk or drop a note into the TRESA mailbox by the post office counter at Tesco.
Talk of Totterdown is delivered by volunteers, but we are always grateful for more help! If you are able to deliver to your street please get in touch.
Summer 2026 issue is now out!
In this latest edition:
- Bristol City Council results from its consultation on the South Bristol Liveable Neighbourhood proposals – facts and figures behind some of the key issues. The report also references TRESA’s own questionnaire on Totterdown residents’ concerns.
- Not one, but two challenges with prizes to be won. Totterdown Front Garden awards (judging in July) and Bake for the Bees (event in September).
- News from Jubilee Pool. Some great fundraising heroes and a great line up of summer events to enjoy (whilst also supporting this fantastic community asset).
Things are certainly changing fast in our neighbourhood – the skyline still filled with cranes and works aplenty continuing further down the hill in St Philips and around Mead Street. With more proposals being brought forward for development on our doorstep TRESA continues to work with the community on questioning and challenging developments where necessary, whilst also supporting our neighbouring wards in South Bristol.
A big shout out to all our contributors to this Summer issue. The Totterdown weather station report makes very interesting reading, whilst a piece from Totterdown Urban Nature Reserve points out some easy wins for humans providing big benefits for wildlife. Three cheers to the newsletter team now delivering printed copies of this newsletter to homes and businesses within TRESA catchment area.
Enjoy the Summer 2026 edition!
