TRESA Directors meeting, 7.30pm 19th August 2020, via Zoom
1 – Opening

Previous minutes were agreed.
2. Directors reports (3 mins each)
a. Treasurer (inc Breakdown Table)
No update provided.
b. Company secretary
Nothing new to update.
c. Membership secretary
We currently have 88 paid up members and 11 friends. AS was concerned that some emails relating
to membership were deleted. This was an accident and has been rectified.
d. Web Editor
All working well.
e. Talk of Totterdown / eToT
The proof is now with the printer and will be ready for delivery soon.
3. Projects
a. Totterdown Sprouting
AS explained that she cannot single-handedly deal with the various Totterdown Sprouting initiatives.
Tottedown Square gardening group is going well but the orchard is overgrown and some of the
planters are looking unkempt. SA suggested removing planters where no-one has agreed to take
responsibility. NW agreed to take responsibility for the planter at the bottom of Angers Road and
will meet with AS to arrange replanting.

SA had sent information to AS about being involved in a photography exhibition relating to unusual
growing spaces around the city. AS to email the contact to suggest the orchard for inclusion.

b. Stanley Hill rat-run
No more progress to dat. Following a question to Bristol City Council it was said that a full list of
Section 106/CIL projects would be produced. This has not happened yet.
c. Zone A
AS to check the current situation with TACA.

d. Zone N
SH chased this up with the Parks Department but there was no clear response and he emailed them
expressing his frustration. This prompted a suggestion for a telephone update – to be arranged.

f.Air quality
GA has suggested it might be possible to team up with other community groups in South Bristol to put forward some ‘asks’ to BCC and/or WECA to protect residents from air pollution whilst improving sustainable transport facilities. (WECA are planning to build more roads).
GA We could compile a list of TRESA ‘asks’ or hold a public meeting with an invited speaker on this topic and get local feedback during the meeting.
4. Planning
No planning items were raised.
5. AOB
a. Dropped kerbs
Following almost 3 years of emailing, the dropped kerbs that were a requirement from a planning
application have at last been installed on Winton Road.
b. Garden Posters
These are on display along Wells Road. AS requested copies. There was a discussion about how they
might be printed. The PDFs could be printed on an ordinary printer but would be A4 rather than A3.
c. Director
After the AGM, we have 3 vacancies. JF has expressed interest and it was agreed that GA would
invite her formally to become a director. SA to send an email to all TRESA members to indicate that
we have 2 vacancies and welcome self-nominations. The survey is being distributed which includes
an option to indicate interest in becoming a director.

d. Houses of Multiple Occupancy (HMO)
SA is the TRESA representative on Action for Balanced Communities who are doing some excellent
work on this issue. She has contributed an article on the topic in the Talk of Totterdown and will
circulate details of how to report an HMO in due course.

e. Road Safety Week
SA has signed up TRESA for Road Safety Week, 16-22 November. Possible activities to be discussed
at the October meeting.

f. Totterdown Residents Survey
We have received 45 online response to date. AS to be given details of anyone who expresses
interest in supporting the gardening activities.
g. No2/Wells Road bus corridor through Totterdown
SA to meeting with a BCC transport officer to discuss TRESA’s concerns and ideas.

JF will present on rat running and low traffic neighbourhoods.
