TRESA asked for an update on local road projects that have been agreed for funding by Bristol City Council and received the following information.
St Lukes Road Pedestrian Crossing – To be reviewed in November 2020 – Project initiated. Placed on hold due to Covid priorities. High priority.
Wells Road Pedestrian Crossing – To be reviewed in November 2020 – Initial surveys conducted and options for types of crossings and locations are being discussed with Councillors. High priority.
Bath Road, Wells Road measures to deter through traffic – To be reviewed in October following discussions over potential additional funding sources. Engagement with the community group and Councillors has sought to clarify local priorities as the available funding is inadequate to achieve the initial aims. We tried to obtain funding to close the road as part of the DfT Emergency Active Travel Fund (EATF) funding. This has not been included in the shortlist. Discussions are ongoing to see if there are opportunities to consider this as part of the Bus Deal A37 corridor works. High priority.
