| 2 days left to have your say on the The Colston Statue The statue of Edward Colston was pulled down on 7 June 2020 during a Black Lives Matter protest in Bristol. One year on, the statue now forms part of a new display at M Shed to start a city-wide conversation about its future. The statue is on display alongside a selection of placards from the protest as well as a timeline of key events leading up to 7 June 2020. We want to hear your thoughts on what happened that day and what you think should happen next. This is an opportunity to have your say on how we move forward together. | Leisure Facilities Investment Strategy Consultation Bristol City Council is consulting on its proposed draft Leisure Facilities Investment Strategy and would like to hear people’s views. By changing the way in which we invest in our leisure facilities, improvements to leisure services can be made that benefit the highest number of Bristol’s residents, focusing investment on centres with the highest potential to support communities to increase physical activity and reduce health inequalities. In this survey the council describes why it is proposing investment at some facilities and why it proposes to stop operating two other facilities. The survey asks for people’s views on this proposed approach. It also describes the potential investments that could be made at up to three facilities and asks whether people think each of these is important or not. The proposals are intended to support a cost-effective delivery of leisure services through a newly procured contract when the current contracts for operating leisure facilities expire. The survey also asks about which leisure facilities people currently use, to help to shape the council’s procurement for a leisure centre operator and to define the types of services it might specify during the procurement process. | Youth Zone In line with, and as part of, the aspirations of our Bristol One City Plan, the Bristol Children’s Charter and the Bristol Equalities Charter, we are developing proposals for a new Youth Zone in South Bristol. The Youth Zone would provide a dedicated space where children and young people from all backgrounds can play, grow and learn, preparing for their futures in our city. The excellent facilities at the Youth Zone would be available to children and young people from across South Bristol and other parts of the city. We want your views on the proposed South Bristol Youth Zone at this stage to help us plan and develop this exciting centre for young people. | INMSS Framework – ongoing parent carer survey This survey aims to collect the views of parent carers whose children have special educational needs and/or a disability (SEND) and attend a for profit/private or independent school. The original survey was open between 29 November 2018 and 15 January 2019. You can see the results here. We have decided to reopen the survey on an ongoing basis. We will continue to use the responses to inform the development of a framework for the Local Authority to use when purchasing SEND education frameworks.
