Talk of Totterdown
CJ has started to lay out the Autumn issue. The copydate for columns is 4 September.
Honey on the Hill
Honey extraction is taking place this evening, 18 August from 6.30pm Meeplenook. Thanks to Adam for hosting. The beekeepers are being cautious about how much honey to take because of the need to ensure the bees are well provisioned for the winter. They expect to be able to fulfil the commitment to offer all sponsors a jar of honey this year, but may run a bit short and probably won’t have any in excess to sell.
To support the bees Adam is holding a fundraising event on 12 September at Meeplenook ‘Bake for the Bees’. This is a cake baking competition, and cakes will then be sold.
Accounts
SA to remind SH that the Spring issue of the Talk of Totterdown is to be paid for from the TUNR account.
SUMUP
The gadget has been purchased and is ready to use. This will enable people to pay TRESA using a contact card.
South Bristol Liveable Neighbourhood
An update was briefly available on Bristol City Council website and details have been circulated to our members, but the update has since been removed from the Council website. SA has emailed to ask for clarification.
Photography project
TRESA has been approached by a local resident who is doing an MA in Fine Art at Bath Spa and will be taking photographs of Totterdown sites and portraits of residents. He would like to come along to our next meeting so say hello. We will also include an article in the Talk of Totterdown.
AGM
The next public meeting is our AGM. The police have agreed to attend, SA to confirm arrangements with them. SA to check if all directors are willing to continue, and to ask TRESA members if they would like to stand for election.
A.O.B
The development at Totterdown Bridge is unfinished. TRESA has not been kept informed of the building progress, although the works affect bus stops and walking routes for Totterdown residents. SA to email relevant councillors to ask if they have an update.
Date of next meeting
Tuesday 15th September, 7.30pm at Meeplenook, 143 Wells Road. This is the AGM.
