Minutes of the TRESA directors’ meeting, 13 June 2023, 7.30pm at Stevens Crescent

Minutes of the previous meeting
Approved.
Directors reports
- Company Secretary. Declaration has been sent and fee paid. Robin still to be reimbursed.
- Membership Secretary. New members to be contacted. (Anne has been on holiday so needs to catch up.)
- Talk of Totterdown. Latest issue has been printed and is being delivered. The print run has been increased by 200. A new column has been introduced: Hillcrest Hubbub with CJ mentoring a group of Yr5 students. The intention is to introduce younger voices and continue the relationship with a new cohort each year.
- Treasurer. No report as the Treasurer has given apologies, but there are no signifcant changes to the accounts.
Totterdown Unicorn
The Unicorn naming ceremony on 1st July. Plans for the parade are coming along, starting at the Shakespeare, then to Totterdown Square for a short, then up to Zone A. Adam is hoping to get some posters produced. CJ will be popping newsletters in to the other businesses and giving them a quick brief. The naming ceremony is in the hands of Floriography. TRESA directors are encouraged to attend. Following the naming ceremony there will be drinks and nibbles at ArtPark.
Front garden competition
SA, MW and AS are distributing awards.
Community mosaic
SA to meet with the artist to discuss the design and workshop arrangements.
Totterdown Sprouting
The Get Growing event had 8 visitors to the community orchard. The bees recently swarmed to much excitement.
Bristol urban nature reserve
It was agreed to sign up.
Trees
TRESA tree champions met with the Green councillors on Willway Street who are supportive of registering the trees. A list of trees is being prepared. Nothing back on Mead Street application for TPOs on Mead Street.
Planning
Mead Street – TRESA has sent a pre-judicial review letter to Bristol City Council.
Towers at Totterdown Bridge – Further delayed while changes to interiors are considered. The latest estimate is that people are not likely to move in until 2025.
11 July public meeting
SA gave apologies due to annual leave. AS to organise Avon Wildlife rewilding team and/or Ben Barker to speak about the urban nature reserve. It was agreed to move the AGM to November 2023.
