TRESA Directors meeting 7.30pm 16th June 2021, at Star & Dove
1 – Opening

Previous minutes were agreed.
2. Directors reports (3 mins each)
a. Treasurer (inc Breakdown Table)
Current bank balance stands at £12,005.09.
Recent payments are for the “Talk of Totterdown” and the “Front Garden awards”. Payment have also been made to Companies House.
b. Company secretary
Nothing to report. All paperwork up to date.
c. Membership secretary
93 paid members, 12 friends.
d. Web Editor
Nothing to report. All working well.
e. Talk of Totterdown / eToT
Hard copies of current ToT now delivered.
No e-TOT has been sent recently. GA to check if NW still wishes to perform this task.
JF expressed a desire to write a regular piece in the ToT regarding materials and efficient usage.
3. Projects
a. Totterdown Sprouting
AS and JN cleared the community space with a large bonfire. Neighbours were notified and all were happy with the fire expect one resident on Vale Street who complained. A resident on Park Street received a quote of £500 to remove the green waste.
The space is being regularly used by local residents, especially since lockdown and some have plans to do more paining.
The beehive is doing well and is now two storeys high. No complaints about the bees and we have even had several messages of support.
A few people have contacted TRESA asking to be involved in the next work parties for the orchard. An event has been scheduled for Sunday 27th June and ideally the last Sunday of each month until September /October.
Gardening group is back and maintaining the beds outside Tesco.
lastly, the trees that were planted last year are all doing well and thriving with the recent rain and sun.
b. Stanley Hill rat-run
No news. Efforts to engage the Council are still getting nowhere but are continuing.
TRESA supports liveable neighbourhoods and wants to survey local residents on interest for this.
SH to contact Ed Plowden and ask about options and to invite councillors to next TRESA meeting.
JF and SA to meet and dicsuss content of questionnaire for local residents. JA to then distribute and engage locals.
c. Zone A
No progress.
TACA plans to hold a public meeting and appoint some directors that can continue work for land ownership. There does not appear to be ay threat to the land at present.
AS pointed out that anyone can cut back the blackthorn bushes now that they have flowered.
d. Zone N
The next stage of works to dig out old plants and install decent topsoil is now scheduled for 5th July with work parties soon after to allow for planting of flowers.
SA has been progressing the idea of a transport hub and TRESA will hold an event on Bushy Park on 4th July with travel west. SA also hopes to get the police to attend for bike marking.
SA to contact new owners of “Banco ” and mention the event and that it could be a good launch for them.
4. Planning
a. Bath road car wash site
This site has had a planning application submitted and the developer would like to meet with TRESA to discuss their ideas. SA to share details of the event with other directors.
TRESA will monitor the provision of affordable units and that the design is in-keeping with local scale and heritage.
5. AOB
a. Future speakers
The TRESA AGM is on 21st July and will be held at the Knowle Con Club.
Suggested that we ask the local police to attend (SA to ask), along with the local councillors (SH to ask).
JF knows teh Bristol Night-time Tsar who lives in Totterdown and could be a guest speaker for September. JA to ask if they are willing.
b. Garden awards
SA has the awards and will deliver all across Totterdown so that she can “calibrate” and ensure consistency.
JA has a friend on Oxford Street who is a landscape architect and who could judge the finalists.
