Minutes of the TRESA meeting held on Tuesday 14 February 2023 , 7.30pm at Stevens Crescent

Company Secretary
RM submitted the TRESA annual accounts and the required Community Interest Company form for filing to Companies House. These documents have been accepted and made available on the Companies House website as of 25 January 2023.
Totterdown Sprouting
AS provided a written report. The Wassail took place on 8 January. Not many attended as the weather forecast was poor, but the those who did joined in with enthusiasm and the rain stopped. The community orchard will probably need a work party in April. Two fruit trees have been purchased at £9 each and planted.
The gardening club met 13 February for some light weeding and planning for the flowerbeds at Totterdown Square. The bulbs are coming up.
Street planters: the one in Angers Road needs attention, and those in Firfield Street will be removed.
Zone A update
AS provided a written report. A City Council grant of £7,400 has been awarded for a shipping container on the hardstanding. This will be used to store the history archive from the Road Project and plan is to open this up to the public during events.
There is a Zone A clear-up working party on 25 February 3.30-5.30pm to prepare an area for wild flower seed sowing. A Spring Forward event is planned for 26 March with wild flower seed sowing, jacket potatoes, tea/coffee and sharing plans for the area.
An application will be made for a Bee pollinator grant to build a garden on the rise at the back of the site and to create an area in front which can be used for events. Brambles will be cut away at the top, and paths created through the rest of the brambles. If TRESA still has the metal trees it may be possible to include them in the plans.
TRESA is happy to support and stay involved with these plans.
Talk of Totterdown
Next is issue is being prepared.
We need to ensure the deliveries on Three Lamps estate do not miss the doors facing Wells Road.
RM will put some copies of the Talk of Totterdown in Knowle Library.
Planning
Broadwalk shopping centre. Proposals are going to committee in 15 March. There are concerns about height and hyperdensity on the site.
Mead Street. No decision notice has been put on the website yet. TRESA has complained about the process of the planning meeting at which the planning application was approved, our complaint has been raised by our councillors and we should receive a response to the complaint by the end of February
101 Wells Road. Approval has been given to open up the basement windows.
Winton Street. TRESA has been informed by Bristol City Council that there are some changes to the application for a community café above Patco. SA has emailed requesting more information.
Boatyard development. TRESA drew attention to the fact that the river bank showed signs of collapsing. This has been checked by Bristol City Council and the developer and both say that it is not affecting the structure of the building.
Temple Meads. TRESA has been invited to attend a workshop on 21 February. SA is unable to attend. RM to check his availability.
Treasurer’s report
No major changes.
£2,000 has been awarded for the mosaic but not received yet. SA to chase.
Rat-running in Three Lamps Estate
TRESA directors were out helping our local councillors to test views of either no left turn from Bath Road into Angers Road, or to block Angers Road immediately after the New Walls junction.
Cllr Lisa Stone has suggested additional door knocking sessions on Saturday 18 February at 11am, and 4 March at 11am. SA to email to all TRESA members.
