TRESA Directors meeting 7.30pm 13th December 2022 at Art Park
1 – Opening

b. Previous minutes
The previous minutes were reviewed and agreed. This was a public meeting with presentations and discussions about the C.H.E.E.S.E. project, trees on Mead Street, and lorries through Totterdown. The minutes and presentations are still to be uploaded on to the website.
Action: TPO process to be pursued for Mead Street with support from TRESA.
Anne and Angela have applied and received an acknowledgement.
Action: Contact Cllr Ed Plowden about the possibility and/or enforcement of restricting the size of
vehicles entering Totterdown’s narrow streets.
Following investigation, it appears that SatNav is directing vehicles through Totterdown streets.
Action: TRESA to pursue participating in the Unicorn festival by sponsoring a Unicorn foal.
Suzanne has contacted the organisers.
Action: TRESA, with the help of our ward councillors, to make contact with the councillors for
Southville since the Mead Street development area is in Southville ward and there are concerns
about proposed developments breaching the Mead Street Development Brief.
Still to be arranged.
Action: The Old Picture House has submitted a planning application.
TRESA has submitted a statement in support.
2. Directors reports (3 mins each)
a. Treasurer
Bank balance is £8,802.81.
b. Company secretary
We need to prepare a declaration for the end of February 2022.
c. Membership secretary
104 members + 11 friends.
Thank you to Miranda for signing up 7 new members during the Front Room Art Trail.
d. Web Editor
The website is generally working well. No updates.
e. Talk of Totterdown / eToT
The last issue was delivered before the Art Trail for most routes but some routes were not informed
that the packs were ready. Suzanne to check arrangements for the Spring issue.
3. Projects
a. Totterdown Sprouting
Gardening group meets next Monday in Totterdown Square (Oxford Street shopping area); a tree has been planted on Zone A; an offer of Silver Birch whips to be purused for planting in and around Totterdown.
b. Clean Air Zone
Is now being implemented. No concerns reported to TRESA. Cllr Ed Plowden asked a question about monitoring any unintended negative consequences at the Full Council meeting today but the reply was not helpful.
TRESA to enquire directly to the Clean Air Team to ask about monitoring of traffic and air quality. In particular, has there been an increase in traffic and air pollution in Sr Johns Lane towards Parson Street school, and in Talbot Road
c. Community Mosaic
We understand that St Lukes Road Community Mosaic has been granted Section106 money, but we haven’t been informed officially yet.
d. Conservation area
Miranda has created Google docs to collate the history of Totterdown
4. Planning
Whitehouse Street walk and talk, Saturday 10th December. Anne, Angela and Suzanne represented
TRESA. It was informative but there was some recognition that the Whitehouse Development Brief,
although generally welcomed, may have limited powers to restrain developers.
Angela and Anne will map the trees in the area.
5. AOB
a. Training for Speed Watch
Anne has enquired but hasn’t had a response yet.
b. St Lukes Road crossing
Hopefully this will be in place next year (2023).
c. Fix My Street App
Members are encouraged to use the FixMyStreet app to report issues. However there have been some concerns about the effectiveness of the app.
