Thanks to everyone who came to the Plant Swap on 28th March. Lots of plants were swapped and lots of gardening conversations were had. Hopefully everyone has had a chance to plant up. The next Plant Swap will be on 6th June 12-2pm on Zone A again. This time it will include some basic informal propagation and potting on sessions. We have a little bit of funding for compost and some pollinator plants so get your plants ready to swap, and come along to learn something new/ try out your gardening skills. Part of Bristol Festival of Nature.
Here are some gardening links to help inspire you and get you going at low cost in your own garden.
Some ideas for using wildflowers in your garden – we had a few of these brought along to the plant swap. Even just an extra pot of nectar rich plants can make a big difference to bees and other insects making their way between our gardens. https://www.avonwildlifetrust.org.uk/blog/shaun-waycott/using-wildflowers-make-your-space-bloom
Lots of us have shady gardens either out the front of the back – here are some ideas for what you could plant in those spaces. https://www.avonwildlifetrust.org.uk/team-wilder-wildflowers-partial-shade
Really Wild Lockleaze have made a series of videos of projects you could do in your garden – straightforward and inexpensive – as well some ‘how to’ videos. Really worth a look https://www.lockleazent.co.uk/project/really-wild-lockleaze/really-wild-videos/
