Marius, the Big Issue seller who stands outside the co-op in Totterdown, was robbed in the evening of Tuesday March 13th as he was preparing to leave for the night. A man walked off with his bag containing copies of the Big Issue and all the cash from his sales. The incident was captured on the store’s CCTV (see below).
Acting Sgt Paul Giddings of Avon and Somerset police said: “We would like to speak to the person in these images. I’m sure that someone locally will know who this person is. Anyone with any information should contact us via our website or by calling 101 quoting reference number 5218054720.”

Fortunately the story has a happy ending for Marius. A collection was started by local people to help cover his loss, which was given a boost when a bucket was passed round at a Curry, Comedy and Music Night taking place at Redcatch community centre.
