Jubilee Pool news and diary date

Have You Seen What’s New at Jubilee Pool?

If you haven’t visited Jubilee Pool lately, now’s a great time to stop by. The railings, downpipes, cycle hanger, and steps have all been freshly painted — and we’ve got some beautiful new front doors on order. It’s all thanks to the generous support of the JeffWay Group, who carried out the work entirely free of charge.  While the improvements are worth celebrating, Jubilee Pool continues to rely on its community, and that support is more important than ever.

As a community-run facility, we’re proud to keep this historic space open and welcoming to all. But like many local venues, we’re feeling the pressure of rising costs — from wages and energy bills to unexpectedly high business rates, even as a charity.

The best way to support Jubilee Pool is simple: come and enjoy it.

Bring your children for swimming lessons. Join a class. Use the gym. Or take a quiet dip and soak in the atmosphere of one of the area’s most cherished places. Every visit makes a difference.

We need your help!

On Saturday 21 June, the Friends of Redcatch Park are hosting The Big Picnic. Running from 7am until 8pm, it promises to be an absolutely fantastic event with sunrise AND sunset balloon launches (everyone keep your fingers crossed for the perfect balloon-flying weather!), live music, food and drink stalls, and an outdoor cinema.

The Friends of Jubilee Pool will also be there raising money for repairs to the reception roof and we’re looking for friendly Jubileevers to help with two-hour shifts on our stall between 10am and 6pm. We’ve got a craft table, merch to sell, games and a tombola, and will generally be helping to spread the word about everything our pool has to offer. If you’re going to be there and think you can spare a couple of hours to help sing the praises of our beloved pool, your time would be very much appreciated. Email rachel_heaton@fojp.co.uk to sign up as a volunteer and let us know your name, phone number and preferred two-hour time slot (between 10am-6pm).
