Treasurer’s report

 Current balance is £10,134.24.

Breakdown of finances:-

There was discussion of ways of using the money held in ‘Admin’ to the extent that there is an unallocated surplus.

Possibly a project involving helping people improve home energy efficiency.  Possibility of lending out the thermal imaging camera for residents to use, but the idea was not pursued as the equipment could be damaged.   Anne to talk to Simon about it

Talk of Totterdown

A hard copy of the latest edition had now been printed and distributed

Sprouting

Simon had reported that he Julian and Anne had planted some more trees locally: a Hawthorn to School Road (By the gate closest to Hillcrest School), and a Downy Birch to Zone A

Bristol park services had also planted two more trees on Zone N to replace those that were cut down.

Anne will be liaising with Kerry Chester as to further planting.  Anne and Julian have moved some of the planters due to difficulties with watering.

Discussed possibility of involving some of responders to survey in tree planting.

Stanley Hill

Anne suggested that making Bathwell Rd into a one-way street could be a good way of controlling rat-running.  Many drivers are continuing to exit illegally onto Wells Rd against the no-entry signs at the top of County St

Zone A

Jez Welsh had not been able to do anything more due to Covid restrictions.

Zone N update

Simon’s contact at Bristol City Council was still being cagey and distant, but she says that she met a contractor on site so that they hoped to start work in the new year.

Air Quality

Simon had noted that the particulate sensor on Holy Nativity Church was continuing to function, though readings are lower due to it being mounted high on the building. Discussion of buying and installing more sensors locally. Problem is finding someone willing to host one with a property next to the main road.  Geoff to review.

                                                                                                                                               GA

Geoff’s sensor had not been working since Feb this year.

Members survey

CJ had offered to send a follow up email to respondents. Geoff to liaise with her on any further action indicated

Jubilee Pool

Suzanne had asked a question at a Council meeting.  Jon Wellington had reported that there may be some movement on the proposed closure.  The Council’s thinking might be that resources were better devoted to the Hengrove Leisure Centre pool; however it was agreed that TRESA attaches importance to Jubilee as a resource for local people.

AOB

Possiblity of setting up an account with Zoom especially for public meetings.  Would avoid having to rush the meeting as we did at last public meeting.  Geoff to look into costs involved.
