“I just want to go out, I am not asking for a lot. People choose to make this harder for me, I do not have any choice in how difficult my journey will be, but other people that can influence this, choose to do nothing to make it easier.”

This guide dog owner told us how pavement parking makes his life that bit harder every day, as he and so many other pedestrians are forced into the road to avoid cars parked on the pavement.
That’s why we’ve started this new petition calling on the Government to introduce a national law to stop problem pavement parking.
A survey by Guide Dogs showed that 97% of blind or partially sighted people encounter problems with street obstructions, and 90% of those had experienced trouble with a pavement parked car. Pavement parking puts people’s lives in danger by forcing them to walk in the road, or even prevents them from going out at all.
Best wishes
