BAR MANAGER @ THE THUNDERBOLT We are recruiting a new Bar Manager at The Thunderbolt, responsible for managing all aspects of bar service, customer experience and assisting with events within the venue. As a live music and events venue over 14 years The Thunderbolt has gained a prestigious reputation locally, nationally and internationally across the music industry. At grass roots level we see the potential of musicians at all levels and help them achieve their goals. The Thunderbolt is also a highly sought after party venue. However, The Thunderbolt is not just about meeting its commercial aims, and is committed to supporting fundraiser events that strengthen our local community. The Bar Manager reports to the Owner Manager. Term & Salary:
- Permanent, Full-Time (35 hours per-week)
- Salary: £20k/potential live in upstairs furnished flat. To be negotiated.
- Based in: Bristol (BS43ED)
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure the bar runs smoothly, oversee the preparation of beverages and quality of product served.
- Lead a team of 3-5 staff that include bar, sound and door staff,
- Taking ownership of finance procedures and assist the owner manager placing stock orders with suppliers
- Responsible for UK Licensing compliance, health & safety and record keeping in accordance with the law and Thunderbolt standards
- Cellar management, including line cleaning, tidiness, stock organisation & rotation
- Assist the Owner manager to maintain the calendar of live events, parties and to ensure commercial opportunities are maximised and community events are supported.
Ideal Experience & Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills which include a welcoming approach to all.
- Hold personal licence, good bar management skill and some music sound knowledge
- Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and Bank Holidays
- At least 6-12 months leadership experience at a fast-paced bar or live music venue and delegating tasks to other employees
- Knowledge of food/beverage and retail environments
- Demonstrate a great understanding of what The Thunderbolt is & who our customers are
