Victoria Park Action Group update

Some important information here from Andrew Brown, Chair, Victoria Park Action Group

____

Dear Friend of Victoria Park,

It looks like this weekend is going to be good weather, and that will inevitably mean more people exercising in the park. Please remember to stay within your household groups, keep your distance from others, use the park for exercise (rather than socialising, picnicking, sunbathing), stay safe, and note the guidance for dogs to be kept on leads.

Regular users of the park may be aware of two tents and people rough sleeping in the park. The authorities know that they are there, and we understand the police have told them to stay put until alternative accommodation can be found. I’ve passed the site a couple of times myself this week – the latest last night – it seems that the people are keeping themselves to themselves and their camp is being kept tidy. If you pass the tents, please stick to the 2m rule.

Bristol City Council has a dedicated webpage with information about COVID-19 and measures to prevent its spread, how to get help, and how to offer help. You can find that here and there is a free helpline for those who are not online – 0800 694 0184.
