The Cycling Ambition Fund team have submitted the following update on the cycle route through Victoria Park.
Five tenders were submitted and, following an assessment, the contract has been awarded to ETM Contractors Ltd. Contract Start Date is Monday 5 March 2018. The Contract Period is 24 weeks.
First tasks will be erection of tree protection fencing and site security fencing, to be complete within the first week. The proposed cycle route will be closed to public access, together with paths that cross it. The park access at Nutgrove Avene/Hill Avenue will be closed for the duration of the works, as ETM will be using this as the vehicular access to the site. It is intended that pedestri
an and cycle access from the top of Windmill Close will be kept open at all times, although there may be a day or two when it is closed to allow works at the access point to be undertaken safely. I attach a copy of ETM’s draft pedestrian management plan (click on the link below).
ETM have initially proposed to undertake the works in phases and then open each completed phase as soon as possible. But this is subject to possible change, once works commence. Contact details for ETM will be provided shortly. They will erect emergency contact details on site signage. A Construction Management Plan has been prepared and submitted to Planning for comment/approval. Once approved, it can be circulated.
A letter is to be delivered to residents fronting the park, advising them of the works and its start date. The school will be informed of the above.
For information – the bat and bird boxes have now been erected.
I trust this is of assistance.
