Minutes of the TRESA directors’ meeting held on Tuesday 16 December, 7.30pm at Stevens Crescent

Company Secretary
All existing directors have confirmed their identity. All new directors will be required to do the same.
From 1 April 2027 we have to submit accounts electronically. Robin to liaise with Simon as Treasurer.
Membership Secretary
Quite a few people are still paying £3 on PayPal. The process for changing is a bit complicated.
Totterdown Sprouting
The gardening group Christmas lunch was a success. Andrew to be asked to produce a sign to acknowledge the donation of bulbs from The Bakehouse, and to advertise the gardening group.
The Good Gym may come to Totterdown on 30 December to help tidy the community space. Penny has a contact at Woodcroft Community Orchard who may be able to help with a chipper.
The Wassail is booked for 18 January afternoon, with the Rag Morris dancers.
Moth posters are £3.60 (including VAT). Anne to meet Ben Barker who has ordered five.
The Bristol bee keeping course is in January – Anne and Mir have booked. Mica has signed up for the South Gloucestershire course in February. £50 each to be paid from the TRESA account.
Talk of Totterdown
Copydate 6 February for Spring issue.
Totterdown Baptist Church to submit an article about use of their rooms.
There will also be articles about the results of our local SBLN questionnaire, and the Urban Nature Reserve.
Planning
The Oxford Grill has requested to extend opening hours to 3am every night. TRESA members have been informed in case they would like to submit comments.
Mead Street: no work has started yet on the tower blocks; the application for the industrial units is still underway.
Princess Street: TRESA objection submitted.
Work has started on a very tall tower at the L&G site on Temple Island.
Totterdown Bridge work is still ongoing. The temporary bus stop site is too far away from the actual bus stop site. Suzanne to email Cllr Plowden to ask if it can be moved closer to Three Lamps junction.
Urban Nature Reserve
Penny is on the Wildlife Champions Programme, Avon Wildlife Trust, and will promote the UNR.
Simon has set up an UNR email address and Penny will produce a quarterly newsletter.
Penny is also writing an article for Talk of Totterdown and would like to run workshops next Spring on Bushy Park to encourage people to plant in pots. This could coincide with the Front Garden awards as a small festival. Suzanne to check the possibility of Tobacco Factory funding.
Penny has set up an i-naturalist project linked to her work for Totterdown Urban Nature Reserve.
Suzanne to check options for Urban Nature Reserve stickers for windows which will be funded from the CIL money we have been granted.
One aim is to have nature corridors through Totterdown by encouraging people in a street to manage their gardens for nature.
There was discussion about the possibility of planting the recently grafted fruit trees in front gardens in a street to form a linear orchard – five well-spaced fruit trees constitute an orchard.
Right of Way application
Suzanne enquired about the application to register a right of way between Bushy Park and St John’s Lane. This will not be processed for a few years because of a Council backlog. Suzanne to ask about progress at a meeting of the Public Rights of Way and Greens committee.
New Director
Penny would like to become a TRESA director, and was welcomed to the group. Penny and Robin to liaise over Companies House.
