Following concerns from local residents, and a photo supplied by Andrew Brown (thank you Andrew), TRESA complained to Bristol City Council about a poor quality repair to the railings in Vale Street.
Cllr Jon Wellington shared an email he had received stating: ‘I am happy to confirm that the repairs to steps and railings on Vale Street have now been completed. Any undamaged parts were re-used and the hand rail was fabricated on to ensure it was repaired to its original state.’
The photograph supplied by Andrew clearly shows this is not the case. TRESA has now received a response to our complaint (below). We look forward to seeing the proper repair completed soon.

Thank you for contacting Bristol City Council via the complaints procedure. We have noted your comments and we can assure you that the repairs have not been fully completed. Our priority was to get the footway back in use. The square post is a temporary measure and the correct bollard is on order.
